Job summary

SC SHIPPING SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. is seeking a chartering professional to negotiate agreements, leverage a global network of ship owners and charterers, and identify business opportunities in cargoes and tonnage.

You will analyze market trends, coordinate with operations for loading and unloading, maintain records, and monitor vessel performance. The role requires English and Mandarin communication, strong negotiation, and willingness to be on-call for emergencies.

Qualifications

  • Diploma / Degree in related studies.
  • Able to work in a team environment independently with minimum supervision.
  • Experience in chartering is preferred.
  • Proficient in both English and Mandarin (required for communication with Mandarin-speaking associates).
  • Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successful contract management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with clients and partners.
  • Ability to analyze data and market trends to inform decision-making processes.
  • Familiarity with maritime regulations and industry standards is a plus.
  • Must be available 24/7 via cellphone and committed to working beyond regular hours, including being on-call during critical voyage operations or emergencies.
