What are my job responsibilities?

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented CBI Data Development Engineer to join our team for CBTC GoA4 railway signalling projects. The engineer will be responsible for the design and development of interlocking data in alignment with system and project requirements, ensuring the safe and reliable operation of fully automated metro systems.

  • Data Design & Development
    • Develop and configure interlocking application data based on approved signalling design and project specifications.
    • Translate functional design requirements into accurate, consistent interlocking logic and data.
    • Ensure compliance with safety standards, system architecture, and signalling principles.
  • Testing & Validation
    • Support offline testing and simulation of interlocking data for functional verification.
    • Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and integration testing phases.
    • Analyse and troubleshoot issues during the testing and commissioning phases, providing timely resolutions.
  • Documentation & Reporting
    • Prepare and maintain accurate technical documentation, including data design records, configuration logs, and change reports.
    • Provide input for as-built documentation to support project handover and system maintenance.
  • Work closely with system design, testing, and commissioning teams to ensure alignment across all project stages.
  • Support interface teams to ensure smooth integration with ATS, CBTC and external interfaces.
What do I need to qualify for this role?
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer, or Railway Signalling Engineering (or equivalent technical discipline).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in railway signalling, with a focus on interlocking systems.
  • Proven experience in data preparation, configuration, and testing for CBTC or conventional signalling systems.
  • Exposure to CBTC GoA 4 projects and familiarity with Siemens interlocking systems are highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of railway signalling principles, safety standards (e.g., CENELEC EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129), and system architecture.
  • Proficiency in configuration tools, version control systems, and simulation environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with excellent communication and documentation capabilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary, multicultural environment.
  • Preferred Skills & Certifications
    • Familiarity with RAMS processes and system safety assurance.
    • Ability to support on-site commissioning and interface resolution activities.
