Job summary

CMA CGM is seeking a Cargo Flow Officer in Singapore to optimize vessel capacity and ensure efficient cargo flow planning, space allocation, and equipment repositioning. You will report to the Cargo Flow Manager and work with Trade, Operations, and Sales to balance demand and minimize costs.

The role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to work under pressure, and effective coordination with stakeholders in shipping and logistics. Local employment is required.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in shipping or logistics preferred with at least 3 years in transportation or logistics.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros) for data analysis.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate with multiple teams under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control vessel load factors through booking trends and forecasts.
  • Optimize vessel space utilization while minimizing rollovers and overbookings.
  • Coordinate with Trade and Commercial teams to align allocations with demand.
  • Analyze port and vessel operations to improve efficiency.
  • Generate cargo flow reports to support daily decisions.
  • Implement medium-term space allocations and enforce guidelines.
  • Balance laden and empty movements per the Equipment Repositioning Plan.
  • Respond to disruptions such as port omissions and misconnected cargo.
  • Develop cargo recovery options and evaluate cost-benefit trade-offs.
  • Minimize costs from vessel changes, shutouts, and storage fees.
