Job summary

Stamford Catering Services Pte Ltd is seeking a Canteen Manager to oversee the end-to-end operation of the assigned canteen outlet in Singapore. You will manage daily food service, manpower, customer service, food safety, stock control, and client relationships to achieve company goals.

The role requires a Diploma in Hospitality or related field and at least 3 years in supervisory or management roles within food service.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent qualification in Hospitality, Food & Beverage, Business Management, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience in food service, catering, cafeteria, food court, or canteen operations.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Good communication and client management abilities.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily canteen operations to ensure efficient service.
• Maintain food quality, presentation and service standards.
• Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to improve productivity and profitability.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and client requirements.
• Resolve operational issues promptly and effectively.
• Serve as the primary contact between the company and the client.
• Build and maintain strong professional client relationships.
• Attend client meetings and address feedback and requests promptly.
• Ensure client expectations and contractual service requirements are met.
• Collaborate with clients to enhance customer satisfaction and service standards.
• Supervise, lead and motivate outlet employees to achieve objectives.
• Manage staff scheduling, attendance, deployment and performance.
• Provide on-the-job training and enforce company standards.
• Foster teamwork, discipline and a positive working environment.
• Address staff issues and escalate significant matters to management.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
• Conduct regular inspections to maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas.
• Ensure staff follow proper food handling procedures.
• Prepare for and cooperate with inspections by clients or authorities.
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure stock availability.
• Manage ordering, receiving and storage of supplies.
• Minimize wastage and control costs through inventory management.
• Verify supplier deliveries and stock quality.
• Monitor daily sales, expenses and operational costs.
• Prepare operational reports and submit them to management on a timely basis.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, stock usage, customer feedback and outlet performance.
• Ensure proper handling of cash transactions where applicable.
• Maintain high standards of customer service at all times.
• Address customer complaints, feedback, and service recovery promptly.
• Promote a positive dining experience for customers and stakeholders.
