Job summary

The National University of Singapore is seeking a Senior Executive / Executive for Security and Emergency Readiness. This role involves managing outreach programmes related to safety and security awareness among students and staff, delivering crucial safety training, and overseeing the AED lifecycle on campus.

The ideal candidate will have a diploma or degree in a relevant field, alongside 1–3 years of experience in emergency preparedness or security operations. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure are essential.

Willingness to work irregular hours as needed adds value to this position.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of relevant experience in emergency preparedness, security operations, or Business Continuity Management (BCM) preferred.
• CPR and AED certification is advantageous; candidates without certification must be willing to obtain it upon joining.
• Willingness to work outside regular office hours, including weekends, when operational needs arise.

Responsibilities

• Manage outreach programmes relating to safety/security awareness.
• Deliver CPR+AED familiarisation and safety/security awareness programmes.
• Own campus wide AED lifecycle including planning and procurement.
• Assist in SGSecure annual readiness programmes with internal and external agencies.
• Assist in Business Continuity Management documentation and exercises.

Job Description

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a direct impact on the resilience of the NUS community while working with diverse stakeholders across the University. This role combines community engagement, programme development, operational readiness, and strategic planning, offering excellent opportunities for professional growth and meaningful contribution.

• Connect with the NUS Community and shape campus security outreach – Design and deliver engaging, campus-wide outreach programmes including but not limited to anti-scam awareness, preventive drug education, anti-vaping, personal safety and security.
• Be the face of our outreach programmes – Engage directly with the NUS community, student leaders and student groups to organise and deliver talks, workshops, campaigns and interactive activities that promote a safer campus community.
• Create and measure impact – Track programme reach, participation, feedback and knowledge retention through simple dashboards, and use insights to continuously improve outreach initiatives.
• Own campus emergency resources – Take ownership of the end-to-end management of AEDs and PPE, including deployment, maintenance, inventory and operational readiness.
• Build a security-ready campus – Plan and coordinate SGSecure readiness activities with NUS units, students and external agencies.
• Strengthen campus security and emergency readiness – Support premise audits, security walkabouts and red-teaming exercises with stakeholders to identify gaps, test preparedness and strengthen campus resilience.
• Support business continuity and emergency preparedness – Support to BCM documentation, exercises and preparedness activities to strengthen the department’s ability to respond effectively to disruptions.
  
  

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree, preferably in Security, Emergency Management, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of relevant experience in emergency preparedness, security operations, or BCM.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
