Job summary

Maersk is seeking a systems professional to own the full cycle of business systems creation and improvement across our global fleet. You will design stowage-related solutions, enhance platforms for performance and user experience, and partner with users to diagnose issues and implement root-cause fixes.

You will coordinate vessel profile management with stowage teams and external vendors, ensuring accurate configurations and timely updates.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Java as primary language.
• Degree in Naval Architecture or Engineering.
• Experience with data analytics tools (Power BI, VBA, Power Automate).
• Strong problem-solving and organisational skills.

Key responsibilities

You will be responsible for full cycle of business systems creation and improvement that directly impact operational cost, capacity utilisation, and operational reliability across our global fleet. You are also responsible for ensuring all business systems are compliant with existing policies and standards within stowage community.

1. System Solution & Support Operational Excellence – 80%

• Create and improve stowage-related solutions to optimise container stowage planning across global vessel operations

• Enhance existing platforms to improve performance, reliability, and user experience

• Partner with users to diagnose and resolve system issues, driving root-cause fixes

2. Vessel Data & Profile Management – 20%

• Coordinate and collaborate with Maersk stowage entities and external vendors to ensure vessel profiles and onboard stability programs are delivered timely and of good quality as required.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure high-quality vessel configuration details (e.g., slots, reefers, pigtails) updated to enable maximize vessel capacity utilisation.

• Maintain and update vessel details in the database to ensure accuracy and completeness.

3. Continuous Improvement & Collaboration

• Identify opportunities to automate and optimise stowage processes to enhance efficiency and user experience

We’re looking for

• Proficient in Java as a primary programming language, other proficiency such as JavaScript, Python, C#, or similar) is preferrable

• Degree / background in Naval Architecture, or Engineering is an added advantage

• Experienced in data analytical tools (e.g., Power BI, VBA, Power Automate) is advantageous

• Strong problem-solving and organisational skills in a fast-paced environment

• Good communication skills with ability to translate business needs to technical concepts & solutions.

• Strong collaboration skills.
