Job summary

POGLI ENERGY PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced bunker trader to manage the full cycle of MGO/VLSFO/HSFO trading in Singapore and regional markets.

You will conduct market research, procure, sell, and manage risk to ensure profitable cargo flows. In this role, you will build relationships with shipowners, vessel operators, bunker suppliers, and other maritime counterparties while monitoring crude oil and shipping trends to devise hedging and procurement strategies.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in bunkers market with MGO/VLSFO/HSFO knowledge.
• Capable of full-cycle trading operations with risk hedging.
• Familiar with international oil trading practices, settlement terms and regulations.
• Strong commercial judgement and negotiation skills.
• Strong data analysis and market acumen.
• Ability to work independently and develop new business.
• Existing relationships with shipowners/operators/customers advantageous.
• Fluent in English and Mandarin.

• Develop and maintain relationships with shipowners, vessel operators, bunker suppliers, physical suppliers and other maritime counterparties.
• Identify new customers and business opportunities in Singapore and regional markets.
• Monitor global crude oil prices and shipping market trends, formulate procurement & sales strategies and execute hedging against price risks.
• Negotiate, implement and settle trading contracts to secure safe capital turnover and physical cargo flow.
• Analyze trading data, optimize operational procedures and improve overall profit margin.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years relevant industry experience with solid knowledge of MGO/VLSFO/HSFO marine bunkers market.
• Possess risk hedging awareness and supplier development competency; capable of independently handling full-cycle trading operations.
• Familiar with international refined oil trading practices, settlement terms and relevant laws & regulations.
• Strong commercial judgement and negotiation skills.
• Strong capability in data analysis and sharp market acumen.
• Ability to work independently and develop new business.
• Existing relationships with shipowners, operators, customers or other marine-industry counterparties are advantageous.
• Fluent in both English and Mandarin.
