Job summary

SAVILLS PROPERTY MANAGEMENT PTE. LTD. is seeking a Building Technician to ensure the maintenance, repair, and smooth operation of building systems and facilities in Singapore.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, attending to breakdowns, monitoring M&E performance, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations to maintain a safe environment for occupants.

Qualifications

• NITEC or above diploma in Electrical/Mechanical building services or related.
• Relevant certifications in electrical work, facilities maintenance, or workplace safety are advantageous.
• Minimum 1–3 years of experience in building maintenance or facilities management.
• Experience in commercial, residential, industrial or mixed-use facilities preferred.

• Monitor and maintain M&E systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and lighting.
• Attend to breakdowns, troubleshoot faults, and carry out repairs promptly.

• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, records and reports.

Job Summary

The Building Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and smooth operation of building systems and facilities. This includes conducting preventive maintenance, attending to breakdowns, monitoring equipment performance, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations to maintain a safe and efficient environment for occupants.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Operations

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance of building equipment and systems.
• Monitor and maintain Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and lighting systems.
• Attend to breakdowns, troubleshoot faults, and carry out repairs promptly.
• Conduct daily facility checks and report any defects or abnormalities.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and reports.

Building Services

• Ensure building services and facilities are operating efficiently and safely.
• Coordinate and supervise contractors for maintenance, repair, and renovation works.
• Respond to tenant or occupant requests and resolve facility-related issues.
• Assist in energy management initiatives and utility consumption monitoring.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with workplace safety and health regulations.
• Support fire safety inspections, emergency preparedness activities, and evacuation drills.
• Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure statutory inspections and maintenance schedules are adhered to.

Administrative Duties

• Update maintenance schedules and work orders.
• Maintain inventory of tools, spare parts, and maintenance supplies.
• Prepare service reports and documentation as required.
• Support budget control by monitoring maintenance expenses and contractor performance.

Requirements

• NITEC, Higher NITEC, Diploma, or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, Facilities Management, or a related discipline.
• Relevant certifications in electrical work, facilities maintenance, or workplace safety are advantageous.

• Minimum 1-3 years of experience in building maintenance, facilities management, or a similar role.
• Experience working in commercial buildings, residential developments, industrial facilities, or mixed-use properties is preferred.
