Job summary

HOCK HAI CIVIL ENGINEERING & BUILDING PTE LTD is seeking a site supervisor to lead daily construction activities on site, ensuring safety, quality, and timely completion. You will collaborate with project teams to coordinate resources, manage site operations, and resolve issues effectively.

The role requires 3–5 years in civil/general building works, strong leadership and the ability to read drawings. A valid Singapore driving license and familiarity with WSH are preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent in Building & Construction or Civil Engineering.
• 3–5 years in A&A, civil works or design & build.
• Ability to read/interpret structural and architectural drawings.
• Strong leadership and communication skills for site teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily construction activities to ensure safety, efficiency and schedule adherence.
• Assist Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and monitoring site operations.
• Lead site supervisors, workers, subcontractors and trades to meet project objectives.
• Coordinate manpower, machinery and resources to maximize productivity.
• Monitor progress and ensure compliance with specs, drawings and quality standards.
• Enforce safety regulations via regular site inspections and WSH compliance.
• Identify, resolve and report construction issues promptly to maintain workflow.
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, suppliers and authorities to address site matters.
• Inspect and verify materials delivered to site for compliance.
• Plan and procure construction materials, equipment and resources to prevent delays.
• Maintain proper site housekeeping, security and environmental controls.
• Conduct toolbox talks and guide workers on safe work practices.
• Maintain daily site records including progress, manpower deployment, material usage and inspection logs.
• Review and interpret structural, architectural and M&E drawings and method statements before execution.
• Ensure works are completed on time, within quality standards, and per contract requirements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Project Manager or Management.

Required competencies and certifications

• Diploma, Nitec, NCCS, or equivalent qualification in Building & Construction, Civil Engineering, or related discipline


• 3–5 years of relevant experience in A&A, R&R, General Building Works, Civil Works, or Design & Build projects


• Ability to read and interpret structural, architectural, and construction drawings accurately


• Strong leadership, communication, coordination, and organizational skills to manage site teams effectively


• Valid Singapore Class 3 Driving License (essential for site mobility and coordination)

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Familiarity with Singapore construction regulations and Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) requirements


• Ownership of a vehicle (advantageous for site transportation and logistics)
