Job summary

Land Transport Authority (LTA) in Singapore seeks a Deputy/Assistant Manager for Bus Rapid Transit Development to lead multidisciplinary workstreams across vehicles, infrastructure, stations and systems.

The role focuses on translating BRT concepts into technical and operational requirements, evaluating technology options and supporting the Singapore-specific BRT solution that is safe, reliable and sustainable.

Qualifications

• Knowledge in Engineering, Transport, Science, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• At least 4 years of relevant experience in public transport, transport infrastructure, buses, rail, automotive, intelligent transport systems, traffic management, electric vehicle systems, automation or major engineering projects.
• Experience in one or more areas such as bus or rail vehicle systems, public transport operations, transport infrastructure, systems engineering, intelligent transport systems, automation or autonomous vehicles, charging systems, transport technology or major transport procurement will be advantageous.
• Strong analytical, planning, problem-solving, project management and stakeholder coordination skills, with good understanding of engineering principles, system interfaces, technical documentation and tender evaluation.
• A proactive, independent and detail-oriented individual who can manage multiple technical workstreams, work effectively with diverse stakeholders and translate complex technology concepts into practical implementation requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage key technical and operational workstreams that support the planning, procurement, testing and implementation of the BRT system.
• Evaluate vehicle and technology options and support development of Singapore-specific BRT requirements.
• Coordinate testing, trials and commissioning activities and ensure safety and risk management.
• Prepare technical specifications, tender documentation and evaluation criteria; review supplier proposals and participate in negotiations.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to resolve interfaces and ensure practical implementation of BRT concepts.
