Bread and Pastry Trainer (Future Leader)
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Bread and Pastry Trainer to join our team. This role is a unique opportunity for an individual with exceptional technical expertise and a strong desire to grow into a leadership position. You will be responsible for training and mentoring our bakery team, ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency. This position is a direct pipeline to becoming a Bakery Section Head, where you will lead and execute the aspect of baking, new initiative implementation and training in the outlets, from production and quality control to inventory and team management.
Key Responsibilities

Training and Development:
- Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for all new and existing bakery staff on bread, pastry, and gifting production.
- Conduct hands‑on workshops and one‑on‑one coaching sessions to improve technical skills, including mixing, kneading, proofing, shaping, and decorating.
- Create and update training materials, including recipes, step‑by‑step guides, and instructional videos.

Operational Excellence:
- Maintain and enforce strict adherence to our quality standards and recipes to ensure consistency across all products.
- Oversee daily production schedules and workflows to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.
- Monitor and manage inventory of ingredients and supplies, ensuring stock levels are maintained and orders are placed in a timely manner.
- Cost of Goods Management, Manpower Productivity.

Leadership and Mentorship (Future Leader Focus):
- Act as a mentor to the bakery team, fostering a positive, collaborative, and high‑performance work environment.
- Identify and develop future leaders within the team, providing guidance and opportunities for growth.
- Take an active role in problem‑solving and decision‑making for the bakery department, demonstrating readiness for a leadership position.

Innovation and Creativity:
- Stay current with industry trends and techniques, introducing new and innovative recipes and products to our menu.
- Experiment with new ingredients and methods to enhance product quality and appeal.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a bakery or pastry kitchen, with a strong portfolio of work.
- Proven experience in a training, supervisory, or leadership role within a culinary or bakery environment.
- Deep expertise in a wide range of baking techniques for both bread and pastry.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for teaching and sharing knowledge.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
- A growth mindset and a clear ambition to take on a leadership position in the near future.
- Culinary or Pastry Arts degree/diploma is a plus.
