Job summary

Hwa Chong Institution invites applications for a Boarding Executive (Facilities Management) to oversee and optimise the school's residential facilities, ensuring safety, cleanliness and smooth operation. You will supervise term contractors, coordinate preventive maintenance, manage approvals and assist budgeting for repairs or improvements.

This role requires a Diploma/Degree in Facilities Management or related field, the ability to work night shifts, and excellent communication with students,

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Facilities Management or related field.
• Preferably at least 2 years of relevant experience in facilities or estate operations.
• Familiarity with contractor management, basic M&E systems, and Singapore regulatory requirements is an advantage.
• Strong coordination, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Comfortable working in a residential/boarding environment, including shift duties (nights/weekends).
• Able to interact with students, parents and staff of diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the performance of term contractors within the residential facilities.
• Assist in preventive and ad-hoc facilities maintenance and housekeeping programs.
• Handle complaints, feedback, and incidents related to facilities maintenance, cleanliness, and pest control.
• Provide feedback and assist in formulating standard operating procedures for routine operations.
• Support inspections, defects rectification, asset enhancement, and minor improvement work.
• Prepare invitations for quotations and tenders on facilities maintenance and housekeeping matters.
• Check and endorse contractors’ claims for payment.
• Attend monthly contractors’ meetings and assess contractors’ performance.
• Source and collate data for annual budgeting of repairs or improvements.
• Escalate critical issues for management decisions including complaints and requests.
• Supervise fire safety matters and security of the estate.
• Provide general administration duties and interact with students, parents, and teachers of various nationalities.
• Willing to stay in at Boarding School and perform night shifts during weekdays and/or weekends.
