Job summary

Chugai Pharmabody Research Pte. Ltd. (CPR) invites an IP Leader to join our in-house IP team in Singapore. You will support R&D through patenting strategy, filings, and global prosecution, working closely with Japan and Singapore offices to protect novel antibody technologies.

We seek a candidate with 6–8 years of patenting experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical patents, strong drafting, and cross-border collaboration abilities. English and Japanese proficiency is essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in biology or bioscience with 6–8 years of patenting experience preferred.
• PhD in a relevant field preferred but not required.
• Qualified patent attorney or agent in any country preferable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patent applications based on company inventions, including prior art search, drafting claims and specs, and coordinating with outside counsels.
• Handle global patent prosecution with outside patent counsels.
• Create IP landscape and filing strategies for research projects.
• Conduct freedom-to-operate searches and analyses for research programs.
• Manage patent disputes, such as oppositions or invalidations, and obtain legal opinions.
