Job summary

RemotePeople is seeking a results-oriented Business Development professional to drive client acquisition in Singapore and the wider SEA region. You will promote BIM and MEP deepening design services, engage owners and contractors, and manage end-to-end deal cycles from proposal to closing.

The role requires 5+ years in engineering or BIM-related sales, a strong network in data center/MEP sectors, and demonstrated ability to negotiate complex projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in marketing, engineering management, architecture, or related fields.
• 5+ years in sales or business development within engineering construction, data centers, BIM, or related industries.
• Established network in Singapore/SEA data center and engineering markets is highly preferred.
• Ability to explain MEP and BIM services and value propositions to clients.

Responsibilities

• Promote BIM deepening design, MEP coordination, and related engineering services.

• Monitor tender activity and client needs to inform internal decisions.
• Coordinate with internal teams to deliver pre-sales support and project solutions.

Job description

Responsible for business development and client acquisition in Singapore and SEA region, with a focus on data centers, industrial plants, office buildings, mixed-use developments, and overseas engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive market development, client acquisition, and achievement of sales targets.
• Leverage personal industry resources to develop opportunities in data centers, industrial buildings, commercial buildings, office buildings, and equipment-room projects; engage owners, developers, design institutes, general contractors, MEP contractors, certification/consulting firms, and material or construction subcontractors across the value chain.
• Promote the company's core services, including but not limited to: MEP secondary BIM deepening design, MEP engineering deepening design, Architectural deepening design, Structural deepening design, Specialized drawing optimization for data center equipment rooms, BIM modeling, model clash detection, and MEP coordination optimization, Overseas project drawing coordination, approval support, and technical support services
• Manage lead generation, client visits, needs assessment, commercial proposal communication, quotation coordination, contract negotiation, and deal closing to drive project implementation.
• Maintain key local clients and partner channels; continuously identify repeat business, referrals, and long-term cooperation opportunities, and build a stable regional client network.
• Track new project developments, tender awards, bidding information, competitor activity, and shifting client needs across the Southeast Asian data center, industrial construction, and engineering markets, and provide timely feedback to support internal business decisions.
• Coordinate with internal technical, design, commercial, and project management teams to provide pre-sales technical support, project solutions, and delivery support to clients.
• Support the establishment of a local partner ecosystem in line with the company's overseas business development plans, including design consultants, engineering consultants, industry associations, local agents, and project resource partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or above; majors in marketing, engineering management, architecture, MEP/mechanical & electrical, civil engineering, or international trade preferred.
• 5+ years of sales / business development experience in engineering construction, data centers, MEP engineering, architectural design, BIM consulting, engineering consulting, general contracting, or related industries.
• Familiarity with the engineering construction market in Singapore and SEA region; candidates with local client, project, or channel resources preferred.
• Candidates deeply established in the data center industry chain preferred, especially those with real relationships across owners, general contractors, design institutes, MEP contractors, certification/consulting firms, or construction subcontractors and material suppliers.
• Understanding of the basic business logic of equipment-room MEP systems, architectural structures, BIM deepening, MEP deepening, coordination optimization, model clash detection, and construction-drawing optimization, with the ability to clearly explain service offerings, project value, and cooperation models to clients.
• Strong business negotiation, client development, project-lead assessment, and independent deal-closing capabilities.
• Strong sense of responsibility, goal orientation, and resilience under pressure; able to adapt to overseas travel, client visits, and cross-cultural communication environments.
