Job summary

Smitech Engineering Pte Ltd is seeking a skilled BIM Coordinator for our electrical/M&E building services team in Singapore. You will build, coordinate and update 3D BIM models for LV/HV distribution, containment, switchboards, cables and lighting, ensuring on-site readiness.

Lead clash detection using Navisworks and BIM 360, produce 2D shop drawings, SLD layouts and CSD/M&E drawings from BIM models, and ensure adherence to LTA standards and BEP.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services.
• 3–4 years hands-on BIM coordination experience in Electrical/M&E in Singapore.
• Proven track record on LTA transit or major infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• BIM Modeling & Coordination for electrical services (LV/HV distribution, containment, switchboards, cables, lighting, trunking, etc.).
• Clash detection and resolution across Electrical vs Mechanical, Plumbing, BIM/Civil/Structural disciplines.
• Drawing production: 2D shop drawings, SLD layouts, CSD/M&E, as-built drawings from BIM models.
• Ensure models comply with LTA standards, A&BWS, BEP and local guidelines (EMA, SS638/CP5, BCA).
• Participate in BIM/VDC coordination meetings with Main Contractors, LTA, Consultants and trade sub-contractors on-site.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• BIM Modeling & Coordination: Build, update, and coordinate 3D BIM models for electrical services—including LV/HV distribution, containment, switchboards, cable trays, lighting, power, trunking, ELV systems, and generator setups.
• Clash Detection & Resolution: Conduct spatial clash management using Navisworks and BIM 360 / ACC; identify and resolve interdisciplinary (Electrical vs. Mechanical, Plumbing, BIM/Civil/Structural) clashes before site installation.
• Drawing Production & Submissions: Extract and generate 2D shop drawings, single-line diagram (SLD) spatial layouts, combined services drawings (CSD/M&E), and as-built drawings directly from BIM models for site execution and consultant review.
• LTA Standard Compliance: Ensure models adhere strictly to LTA VDC/BIM standards, LTA Architectural & Building Works Specifications (A&BWS), project BEP (BIM Execution Plan), and local authority guidelines (EMA, SS638/CP5, BCA).
• Coordination Meetings: Represent Smitech in regular BIM/VDC coordination meetings with Main Contractors, LTA representatives, Consultants, and trade sub-contractors to resolve technical interface issues on-site.

Requirements

• Education: Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline.

• Minimum3 to 4 years of hands-on BIM coordination experience specializing in Electrical/ M&E building services in Singapore.

• Proven track record in LTA (Land Transport Authority) transit or infrastructure projects (e.g., MRT stations, depots, bus interchanges, or major roadworks).
