Job summary

Zenika Singapore seeks a seasoned Python backend consultant to design and build robust, scalable systems. You’ll work with FastAPI/Django/Flask, embrace async patterns, and collaborate with client teams to shape architecture.

You’ll mentor juniors, advocate Python best practices, and help deliver cloud-native solutions with Docker and Kubernetes. This role emphasizes code craftsmanship, automated testing with PyTest, TDD, and living documentation.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software development experience with a backend focus.
• Deep knowledge of Python internals and async programming.
• Experience with microservices, RESTful design, and event-driven patterns.
• Experience with tests and quality tooling (PyTest, Black, Ruff/Flake8).

Responsibilities

• Architect & Build: Design, develop, and maintain high-performance applications and microservices using modern Python frameworks.
• Asynchronous & Event-Driven Systems: Implement scalable concurrent patterns and integrate message brokers.
• API Excellence: Design clean, contract-first APIs (REST, GraphQL, gRPC).
• Data Strategy: Create efficient data access layers and schema designs across SQL and NoSQL.
• Engineering Standards: Enforce testing, TDD, code reviews, and living documentation.
• Cloud & Automation: Build CI/CD pipelines and deploy with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud providers.
• Leadership: Participate in architectural discussions and mentor junior engineers.
