Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS/Software Engineering.
• 3+ years of professional Java backend experience.
• Strong understanding of Spring/Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and microservices.
• Proficient in SQL/NoSQL and DB performance optimization.
• Familiar with CI/CD and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience leading projects from concept to deployment.
• Excellent problem-solving and production troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement robust backend solutions in Java to support new features and products.
• Lead End-to-End Projects: Own the entire development cycle (from requirements gathering to production deployment) with minimal supervision.
• Optimize Performance & Scalability: Conduct code reviews, optimize databases, and fine-tune microservices to maintain responsive and reliable systems under high traffic.
• Ensure Code Quality & Best Practices: Establish and enforce coding standards, testing strategies, and documentation for the team.
• Collaboration: Share knowledge on Java best practices, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with product managers, frontend engineers, and DevOps to deliver cohesive, high-quality releases on schedule.
• Troubleshoot and Debug: Diagnose issues in production, implement long-term fixes, and proactively prevent downtime or regressions.

Patsnap is looking for a Backend Engineer / Senior Backend Engineer to build and evolve the high-performance, scalable systems behind our global innovation intelligence and AI-powered products. Working primarily with Java, you’ll take ownership of critical backend services and tackle complex engineering challenges across system architecture, performance, reliability, and scale.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll have the opportunity to own meaningful projects from design through to production, working closely with Product, Frontend, DevOps, and other engineering teams to turn ideas into robust, high-quality solutions. Beyond writing great code, you’ll help shape technical decisions, improve engineering standards and practices, and continuously strengthen the systems that enable Patsnap to deliver fast, reliable products to customers around the world.

What You'll Be Doing:
