Job summary

Swiss Nexus is recruiting a Backend Engineer to design and build the systems powering payments, settlement and routing across multiple networks. You’ll work on high‑performance APIs and distributed services, contributing to core architectural decisions in a fast‑moving engineering environment.

You will design, implement and operate backend platforms with emphasis on reliability, performance and security. Strong TS, Go, or Rust skills and deep distributed systems knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven track record building production-grade backend systems.
• Experience with TypeScript, Go or Rust.
• Deep knowledge of distributed systems, API design and database architecture.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, Docker, Kubernetes.
• Strong CS fundamentals across algorithms, data structures and systems design.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain high-performance APIs and backend services.
• Support payments, settlement, routing, and asset conversion systems.
• Develop infrastructure across multiple networks and providers.
• Build backend capabilities to improve performance, conversion, reliability.
• Contribute to system design, architecture reviews and technical decisions.
• Improve the scalability, reliability and fault tolerance of production systems.
• Participate in incident response, code reviews, testing and standards.
• Take ownership of projects from initial design through production deployment.
