Job summary

Google's Payments team in Singapore designs backend features for consumer payments, e-Wallet integrations, and scalable A2A transactions. You will work with local and global teams to architect and deliver backend systems powering Google Pay experiences.

As a Software Engineer for Consumer Payments, you will contribute to Java/C++ code, optimize performance, and help push AI-assisted tooling into the development workflow to improve velocity across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in Java, C++, or similar languages.
• Experience with data structures, algorithms, and software design.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable backend software for consumer payments, focusing on robust API integrations.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, UX designers, business development, and other engineers globally.
• Write high-quality, well-tested code in Java or C++, ensuring systems handle high transaction throughput with low latency and high availability.
• Own the full-stack or end-to-end delivery of feature enhancements that drive growth in the number of transactions on e-Wallets and scalable A2A payment systems.
• Explore and leverage AI-first development tools to streamline and enhance software development lifecycles and team velocity.
