Job summary

Google Singapore is hiring software engineers for Consumer Payments to design, develop, and scale backend features across our payment systems. You will architect infrastructure powering e-Wallet integrations and A2A payments, collaborating with PMs, UX, BD, and global teams.

Proficiency in Java or C++ and a strong base in data structures and algorithms are required. You will join a team focused on high availability, low latency, and secure payment experiences, with opportunities to adopt

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, C++).
• Experience with data structures, algorithms, and software design.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable backend software for consumer payments, focusing on robust API integrations.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, UX designers, business development, and other engineers globally to define, plan, and implement scalable payment capabilities tailored to the APAC region.
• Write high-quality, well-tested code in Java or C++, ensuring systems handle high transaction throughput with strict low-latency, high-availability, and compliance requirements.
• Own the full-stack or end-to-end technical delivery of feature enhancements that drive growth in the number of transactions on e-Wallets and scalable A2A payment systems.
• Explore and leverage AI-first development tools (e.g., generative coding, testing, and verification tools) to actively streamline and enhance software development lifecycles and team velocity.
