Job summary

Activate Interactive Pte Ltd is seeking a backend-focused engineer to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract in Singapore. You will design, build, and maintain server-side logic, databases, and APIs powering COMPASS, a strategic analytics platform for bus operations.

Qualifications

• Experience backend development for enterprise-grade applications.
• Proficient in Python, Node.js or Java.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Experience developing and deploying cloud-native apps on AWS.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Agile practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain server-side logic, databases, and APIs for COMPASS platform.
• Design scalable backend services and integration components.
• Develop microservices and distributed systems.
• Integrate with upstream/downstream systems, devices and data sources.
• Manage and optimise databases; ensure data integrity.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and observability for reliability.
• Collaborate with frontend, data teams, and stakeholders to deliver solutions.
• Ensure secure backend practices and authentication/authorisation.
• Support testing, deployment, and production operations.
