Activate Interactive Pte Ltd in Singapore is seeking a seasoned full-stack developer to design, develop, and maintain web applications and backend services for the COMPASS platform. You will build responsive user interfaces and scalable APIs, translating business needs into robust technical solutions.

The role requires strong frontend and backend skills, RESTful API design, and cloud-native development on AWS, with Docker/Kubernetes and CI/CD experience.

Location: 1 Hampshire Road

COMPASS (Comprehensive Performance & Analytics for Bus Systems) is LTA's strategic analytics platform for bus operations. It consolidates data from fleet management systems, onboard devices, and operational platforms to provide actionable insights that support data-driven decision-making across LTA and public transport operators (PTO). As COMPASS continues to evolve, new initiatives are being developed to enhance bus operations through predictive maintenance and AI-enabled insights. These initiatives require enhancements across application development, system integration, data processing, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, and platform operations.

What the officer will be doing?

• Responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining web applications and backend services supporting the COMPASS platform:
• Design, develop, and maintain responsive web applications and user interfaces for COMPASS platform
• Develop backend services, APIs, and microservices to support business functions and data processing requirements
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions and system features
• Design and implement reusable, maintainable, and scalable software components
• Develop and consume RESTful APIs and integrate with internal and external systems
• Apply frontend engineering best practices, including responsive design, accessibility, performance optimisation, and cross-browser compatibility
• Implement secure coding practices and comply with LTA security requirements
• Perform code reviews, unit testing, integration testing to ensure software quality and reliability
• Work closely with UI/UX designers and business users to improve application usability and user experience
• Participate in Agile development activities including sprint planning, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance
• Support application troubleshooting, defect resolution, and production support activities
• Collaborate effectively with team members to deliver solutions and support knowledge sharing across the project team

Requirements

• Experience in fullstack application development and building enterprise-grade web applications
• Strong proficiency in modern frontend technologies such as:
• ReactJS, Angular, Vue.js,
• HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, TypeScript
• Strong proficiency in backend development using:
• Node.js, Python or Java Spring Boot
• Experience implementing frontend best practices including:
• Responsive design
• Accessibility
• Performance optimisation
• Component-based architectures
• State management
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs, API integration, and microservices architecture
• Experience developing and deploying cloud-native applications on AWS, with familiarity in container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL or SQL Server
• Experience with GitLab source control, CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Understanding of secure coding practices and application security principles
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
