Job summary

BLUE OCEAN SYSTEMS INFOTECH PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced SQL Server DBA to administer databases on Azure VMs and Azure SQL Managed Instances. You will ensure high availability, security, and performance across production environments.

The role requires hands-on expertise with T-SQL, backups, DR testing, Always On, and monitoring tools. You\'ll collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to deliver reliable database services and secure data.

Qualifications

5+ years hands-on Microsoft SQL Server DBA experience.
Experience with SQL Server 2016 or later in production.
Azure SQL DB/VM administration experience.

Responsibilities

Administer and maintain SQL Server on Azure VM and Azure SQL Managed Instance.
Provision, configure, and optimise databases for HA, scalability, and performance.
Design backup, restore, DR, and business continuity strategies with regular testing.
Monitor health, troubleshoot performance, and optimise queries and indexes.
Manage SQL Server security: TDE, RLS, DDM, Always Encrypted, RBAC.
Configure Always On, Failover Clustering, and other HA technologies.
Support migrations using Azure DMS and DMA.
Implement monitoring and auditing with Azure Monitor, Defender for SQL, and Sentinel.
Develop runbooks and disaster recovery procedures.
Collaborate with infra, cloud, and app teams to deliver reliable DB services.
