Qualifications

About The Role

As an AV Safety Driver Instructor, you are responsible for the training, ongoing evaluation, and formal certification of incoming Safety Operators - ensuring every individual meets the program's requirements before operating independently on Singapore's public roads.

Beyond the classroom, you serve as a standard-bearer for the wider instructor pool: when cohorts scale, you guide and support drivers elevated to the instructor pool, maintaining consistency in how training is delivered and how performance is assessed.

This role is best suited to an experienced, safety-focused driver who holds themselves and others to the highest operational standards, remains composed under pressure, and finds genuine satisfaction in building the capability and confidence of those they coach.

What you’ll be doing

• Demonstrate driving practices and behaviors to the highest operational standard, serving as the benchmark for every trainee entering the program
• Deliver structured behind-the-wheel instruction at up to a 3:1 trainee-to-instructor ratio, supervising and coaching trainees across all stages of the program
• Assess trainee competency with confidence - making clear decisions on readiness to progress, applying remediation where appropriate, and recommending removal where safety standards are not met
• Give direct, constructive feedback that adapts to the individual without ever compromising the safety standard
• Support and mentor driver-instructors during large training classes, maintaining consistency in how sessions are delivered and trainees are assessed
• Maintain accurate training logs, assessment records, and incident documentation to the standard required for regulatory audit
• Proactively flag safety concerns, near-misses, or trainee risk indicators through the appropriate channels; participate in safety reviews and program evaluations

What you will need for this position

• Valid Singapore Class 3 or 3A driving licence, held for a minimum of 5 years with a clean record and no demerit points in the past 3 years
• Demonstrated experience as a driving instructor, trainer, or in a comparable instructional or coaching role with formal assessment responsibilities
• Strong communication skills in English, written and spoken
• Must be a Singapore Citizen, Permanent Resident, or hold a valid work pass
• Able and eligible to travel internationally for up to 8 weeks for initial AV training and certification
• Must pass a background check, drug screen, driving record review, and Moove's internal driving assessment

Preferred Qualifications

• Valid TDVL or PDVL, or prior experience as a professional or commercial driver in Singapore
• Experience training drivers or operators in a highly regulated, safety-critical environment - transport, aviation, maritime, or similar
• Familiarity with autonomous vehicle technology, ADAS systems, or vehicle telematics
• Prior exposure to LMS platforms or digital training record systems
• Additional language proficiency (Mandarin, Malay, or Tamil)
