Job summary

Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Center Singapore (HMGICS) seeks an experienced Industrial Automation Engineer to optimize production equipment, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. You will work with PLC programming, SEQ logic, SQL databases, and Power BI to monitor performance and guide data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/ Electronics/ Mechatronics/ Automation/ Computer Engineering or related field.
• Strong PLC programming and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong SEQ (Sequence Control) logic development and debugging skills.
• Strong knowledge of SQL databases, including SQL Server, MySQL, and Oracle.
• Experience in database management, query development, data analysis, and reporting.
• Proficiency in Power BI or other data visualization and BI tools.
• Experience with SCADA, HMI, and industrial automation systems.
• Strong equipment troubleshooting and RCA skills.
• Experience in manufacturing process optimization and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and 5S principles.
• Ability to support production through rapid response to equipment and system issues in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and optimize production equipment to maximize uptime.
• Develop and modify PLC programs and SEQ control logic.
• Monitor equipment performance and improve OEE.
• Support installation, commissioning, qualification, and validation activities.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Utilize SCADA/HMI, PLC, sensors, and control networks for monitoring.
• Maintain and query manufacturing databases (SQL Server/MySQL/Oracle).
• Develop SQL queries, reports, dashboards for monitoring and improvement.
• Use Power BI to visualize performance trends and insights.
• Collaborate with Production, Process, and Quality teams to optimize efficiency.
• Apply Lean/Six Sigma/Kaizen/5S methodologies.
• Provide rapid response to breakdowns and technical issues.
• Maintain technical documentation and electrical schematics.
