NEXBRIDGE RECRUITMENT PTE. LTD. is seeking a qualified automation engineer to lead technical teams in Singapore's medical device manufacturing environment.

The role focuses on operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and optimization of automated lines, with emphasis on continuous improvement. You will manage automation projects from design through qualification, develop PLC programs (Omron NJ-series), and create SolidWorks layouts.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification (Diploma or Degree) is required.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant engineering experience.
• PLC programming experience with Omron NJ-series or similar platforms.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks for designing and modification.
• Strong problem-solving, critical thinking and coaching abilities.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and maintain documentation.

Responsabilités

• Lead and guide technicians in operation, troubleshooting, maintenance and optimisation of automated lines and equipment.
• Lead automation projects from design to qualification and installation.
• Develop automation solutions to improve medical device assembly processes and plant productivity.
• Provide technical support and establish SOPs, maintenance procedures and troubleshooting guidelines.
• Design equipment layouts and tooling using SolidWorks.
• Develop and troubleshoot PLC programs and related control systems (Omron NJ-series).
• Support new product introductions and process transfers through automation.
• Maintain and control engineering documentation and change records.
• Lead equipment upgrades and continuous improvement with internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitor equipment performance and implement corrective actions to improve yield and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 13485 and medical device manufacturing standards.
• Manage spare parts and maintenance resources to minimise downtime.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead and provide technical guidance to technicians in the operation, troubleshooting, maintenance and optimisation of automated assembly lines and equipment
• Lead and manage automation projects, including equipment design, development, procurement, installation, commissioning and qualification
• Develop and implement automation solutions to improve medical device assembly processes, production workflow, plant layout, productivity and manufacturing efficiency
• Provide technical support to production operations and establish standard operating procedures, equipment maintenance procedures and troubleshooting guidelines
• Design and modify equipment layouts, mechanical components, jigs, fixtures and assembly tooling using SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software
• Develop, modify and troubleshoot PLC programs, including Omron NJ-series controllers and other PLC platforms, as well as associated HMI, sensors, actuators and control systems
• Support the introduction of new products and manufacturing processes through automation development, process transfer and equipment integration
• Prepare, maintain and control engineering and equipment documentation, including process change records, equipment start-up and commissioning forms, preventive maintenance schedules, troubleshooting reports and service records
• Lead engineering changes, equipment upgrades and continuous improvement projects in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to improve process capability, product quality and operational efficiency
• Monitor and optimise equipment performance, process yield, cycle time, production output and equipment downtime, implementing corrective and preventive actions where necessary
• Support equipment qualification, process validation and relevant documentation in accordance with the Company's Quality Management System, ISO 13485 requirements and applicable medical device manufacturing standards
• Ensure automated equipment and assembly processes comply with applicable safety requirements, quality standards and established engineering procedures
• Manage automation equipment spare parts, critical components and maintenance resources to ensure equipment reliability and minimise production disruptions

Job Requirements

• Diploma / Degree in Engineering
• Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience
• PLC programming experience on Omron NJ-series or other brands
• Proficient in SolidWorks
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Critical thinking and coaching skills
