Job summary

MICRON SEMICONDUCTOR ASIA OPERATIONS PTE. LTD. is seeking an automation software engineer to design, implement, and maintain systems that optimize factory operations.

You will collaborate with site teams to optimize scheduling and material delivery using autonomous robots and in-house automation tools. You will work with global automation groups to enable AI-powered processes, leverage data dashboards, and ensure reliability and scalability of production systems.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in Perl and/or Python, SQL, and web technologies (Angular, HTML, CSS).
• Hands-on experience with Linux-based systems (e.g., Ubuntu, Debian, RHEL, AlmaLinux).
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) including deployment / data processing.
• Experience with Tableau or PowerBI is an advantage.
• Hands-on exposure to AI and ML techniques is an advantage.
• Demonstrated leadership potential through teamwork or activities beyond coursework.
• Growth mindset with passion for learning and self-improvement.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy, and maintain automation software solutions for factory operations, including autonomous material delivery and in-house equipment automation.
• Collaborate with site manufacturing teams to create automated scheduling solutions to improve productivity and efficiency.
• Work with global factory automation teams to enable autonomous mobile robot solutions for material delivery.
• Partner with global equipment and automation groups to support in-house production systems for performance and reliability.
• Own end-to-end lifecycle of automation solutions from requirements to deployment and monitoring.
• Identify automation opportunities using data analysis, dashboards, and reports.
• Troubleshoot automation systems and drive continuous improvement in production operations.
• Integrate AI-assisted tools to improve efficiency, quality, and effectiveness while complying with standards.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by sharing AI-enabled enhancements.
