Job summary

KIDS INTERVENTION SPECIALISTS (BUKIT TIMAH) PTE. LTD. is seeking a therapist to assess and support children with behavioural, social and emotional needs.

The role involves creating intervention plans and updating parents with progress and strategies during sessions. The candidate collaborates with parents, teachers and therapists, and provides in-class behavioural management support and school shadowing as part of a holistic approach.

Qualifications

• Degree in Psychology, Special Education, or Early Childhood (Special Needs).
• At least 1 year of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy experience with special needs children.
• Must be able to work on Saturdays.
• Other relevant certifications and qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Assess behavioural, social and emotional needs of children across ages.
• Formulate and implement intervention plans based on assessments.
• Update parents on progress and share strategies during sessions.
• Collaborate with parents, preschool teachers, intervention teachers and therapists.
• Provide support for in-class behavioural management, psychotherapy, and school shadowing.

Job description

Job Description & Requirements

• Assess children of different ages on their behavioural, social and emotional needs
• Formulate an intervention plan for the child based on assessment findings.
• After each intervention session, parents are updated of the child's progress during the session and some strategies will be shared with the parents to reinforce what was taught/done during the session
• Collaborate with different stakeholders (i.e., parents, preschool teachers, intervention teachers and therapists) of the child to understand more about the child in different setting (i.e., schools and home) to help better manage the child's behaviour
• Provide support for in-class behavioural management, psychotherapy and school shadowing or support services at school
• Supervises new or junior staff in the same discipline as assigned.
• Responds to and be participative towards trans and multi disciplinary programmes as part of a holistic approach for the clients

Administrative work

• Recording of case notes after each session. This is important as it records the progress of the session so that it is easy to monitor the child's progress and their behaviour
• Attend and contribute at Inter-Department Training, case discussion, staff consultation and any other meetings requested by the management
• Cover all other administrative and clinical duties as deemed essential.
