Job summary

THE SINGAPORE TASTY FOOD PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced kitchen lead to prepare traditional Indian dishes spanning North Indian, Gujarati, and South Indian styles.

You will supervise staff, manage inventory, and innovate menus to meet customer requirements while upholding high food standards. You will apply herb and spice knowledge to enhance flavors, plan procurement for service days, and ensure accurate order fulfillment.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a kitchen team.
• Proficiency in traditional Indian cuisines (North Indian, Gujarati, South Indian).
• Knowledge of herbs and spices to enhance flavor.

Responsibilities

• Prepare traditional authentic Indian dishes, emphasizing North Indian, Gujarati, and South Indian cuisines.
• Apply knowledge of herbs and spices to enhance flavor and authenticity.
• Supervise and coach junior kitchen staff to maintain efficiency and quality.
• Plan ingredient procurement and preparation for service days.
• Interpret and fulfill customer orders accurately and adapt dishes as needed.
• Introduce new dishes and menus to enhance variety.
• Monitor stock levels and inventory to prevent shortages or overstocking.
• Implement stock rotation to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
• Control portion sizes and monitor waste to optimize food costs.
• Maintain high food quality standards during all service periods.
• Perform effectively under pressure during peak times.
• Demonstrate flexibility by working various shifts, including split shifts.
