Job summary

Michael Page International is partnering with a private equity client in Singapore to hire an Associate for the Private Markets team. The role focuses on identifying investment opportunities in PE funds and co-investments, aligned with Asia Pacific strategies, under supervision of the Senior Investment Officer.

The successful candidate will run investment processes, perform due diligence, build financial models and prepare memos and IC materials for review.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of total experience in PE fund investments or co-investments or investment banking preferred.
• Strong valuation, modelling, and financial analysis capabilities.
• Familiarity with PE databases such as Preqin highly valued.
• Excellent academic qualifications

Responsibilities

• Conduct systematic research and analysis of PE markets and industry trends
• Contribute to sourcing, research and execution for PE funds or co-investments opportunities, with a focus on Asia Pacific
• Due diligence including investment analysis, financial modelling, composing investment memos and IC presentations, presenting investment opportunities and managing investment subscriptions
• Quantitative and qualitative analysis of transactions; portfolio monitoring and management, reporting and project work, in collaboration with internal teams and external advisors or consultants
• Contribute to internal team discussions and participate in meetings with senior leadership at PE funds and management teams
• Networking with lead investors in the region

Job Description

This role identifies, analyses and proposes investment opportunities in the space of private equity (PE) funds and co-investments. In coordination with the Senior Investment Officer, the successful candidate will run investment processes and monitor investment portfolios.

Responsibilities

• Conduct systematic research and analysis of PE markets and industry trends
• Contribute to sourcing, research and execution for PE funds or co-investments opportunities, with a focus on Asia Pacific
• Due diligence including investment analysis, financial modelling, composing investment memos and IC presentations, presenting investment opportunities and managing investment subscriptions
• Quantitative and qualitative analysis of transactions; in addition, portfolio monitoring and management, reporting and project work, in collaboration with internal teams and external advisors or consultants
• Contribute to internal team discussions and participate in meetings with senior leadership at PE funds and management teams
• Networking with lead investors in the region

The Successful Applicant

• Excellent academic qualifications with two or more years of total experience in PE fund investments/co-investments or investment banking would be preferred
• Exceptional candidates with relevant M&A, transaction services or investment banking experience who demonstrate strong interest in research on PE managers and in evaluating co-investment opportunities may also be considered
• Expertise in equity valuation and financial modelling would be preferred and familiarity with database tools such as Preqin would be highly valued
• Ability to conduct comprehensive research, interpret complex financial data and synthesize results
• Besides being a good team-player, candidates should also demonstrate maturity, integrity and possess the ability to interact with industry participants and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
• Challenge and accept change constructively
