Job summary

RecruitFirst is seeking an entry-level engineer to build, test and repair wire bonding machines in a structured production environment at Serangoon North. You will assemble, perform functional tests and troubleshoot faults following established procedures.

The role requires a minimum NITEC in engineering and the ability to work fixed shifts including alternate Saturdays, with Noon/Night shift allowances. Permanent or 12-month contract options are available, with a supportive team and clean

Qualifications

• Minimum NITEC qualification in an engineering-related discipline.
• Higher NITEC, Diploma or other engineering qualifications are welcome.
• Able to distinguish colour-coded wires and components for assembly and testing.
• Willing to work fixed shifts and alternate Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Build and assemble wire bonding machines according to work instructions.
• Perform functional testing on completed equipment.
• Identify machine faults and carry out troubleshooting.
• Repair or adjust components according to established procedures.
• Ensure completed work meets quality and safety requirements.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area.
• Work closely with the production and engineering teams.

Job description

Start or develop your engineering career with hands-on exposure to specialised manufacturing equipment. You will build, test, troubleshoot and repair wire bonding machines within a structured production environment.

Position Details

• Salary: Up to $4,800/month, depending on experience
• Employment: Permanent or 12-month contract
• Location: Serangoon North
• Schedule: Monday–Friday and alternate Saturdays
• Shift arrangement: Fixed AM, noon or night shift

Available Shifts

• AM: 6.45am–3.15pm
• Noon: 2.45pm–11.15pm, with a $15 shift allowance
• Night: 10.45pm–7.15am, with a $25 shift allowance
• The same hours apply on alternate working Saturdays

Key Responsibilities

• Build and assemble wire bonding machines according to work instructions
• Perform functional testing on completed equipment
• Identify machine faults and carry out troubleshooting
• Repair or adjust components according to established procedures
• Ensure completed work meets quality and safety requirements
• Maintain a clean and organised work area
• Work closely with the production and engineering teams

Requirements

• Minimum NITEC qualification in an engineering-related discipline
• Higher NITEC, Diploma or other relevant engineering qualifications are welcome

• Able to distinguish colour-coded wires and components accurately for assembly and testing
• Comfortable wearing the required smock or ESD jacket at work
• Comfortable performing hands-on assembly and troubleshooting duties
• Able to work an assigned fixed shift and alternate Saturdays
• Responsible, detail-oriented and able to work effectively within a team
