Associate Engineer (Electrical & Electronics Consumer Products)

As an Associate Test Engineer with a world‑leader in product testing and certification, you will be instrumental in conducting independent electrical safety testing to achieve compliance with relevant international or national directives, regulations and standards before consumer‑safe products go to market within the Electrical & Electronic Service Line of Product Services Division.

You will be part of a dynamic multi‑disciplinary team of experts as we drive the development of new services and future businesses in the age of digital transformation such as smart home technologies, wearable devices, and personal robotics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and evaluate tests on products such as consumer information technology, audio visual, and home appliances for compliance with various safety and performance international standards
  • Prepare test and inspection reports
  • Coordinate with customers, suppliers and sub‑contractors to ensure smooth execution of projects
  • Undertake process improvement projects on testing facilities and services
  • Maintain and upkeep test facilities and equipment
Key Requirements
  • Minimum a NITEC / Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or its equivalent
  • Experience involving IT equipment or home appliance evaluation is an added advantage
  • Result- and service-oriented individual with initiative, good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive team player able to work independently in challenging projects and timelines

As a Test Engineer with a world‑leader in product testing and certification, you will be instrumental in conducting independent electrical safety testing to achieve compliance with relevant international or national directives, regulations and standards before consumer‑safe products go to market within the Electrical & Electronic Service Line of Product Services Division.

You will be part of a dynamic multi‑disciplinary team of experts as we drive the development of new services and future businesses in the age of digital transformation such as smart home technologies, wearable devices, and personal robotics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure quality and safety of consumer products by conducting performance, energy efficiency and electrical safety tests on both conventional and smart consumer electrical and electronic products
  • Review and exercise engineering judgement on test standards and develop test procedures / protocols for laboratory testing
  • Set up / commission test facilities in accordance with test standards and OHSAS guidelines
  • Work with business and sales teams to develop and commercialize new testing services, and build technical capabilities to meet new trends in consumer technology, including providing technical support for sales enquiries
  • Undertake developmental projects in engineering disciplines such as process, operations, facilities or service improvements
  • Partner with customers, suppliers and sub‑contractors to ensure smooth and timely execution of projects
Key Requirements
  • Minimum a Diploma qualification in Electrical / Electronic Engineering with at least 3 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of ISO Quality Management System (i.e., ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 9001) is an added advantage
  • Strong analytical, results‑oriented and service‑oriented with high agility to work in a cross‑cultural, cross‑generational, and matrix environment
  • Collaborative with internal and external stakeholders yet innovative to drive changes in challenging circumstances
