Job summary

HSBC is seeking an Associate Director, CIB Banking COO to drive Origination and Business Development activities across International Markets. You will coordinate with Country Heads and senior stakeholders to manage governance, events, and cost management within the CIB Banking AME.

You will lead KPI and KRIs, support large client events, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement aligned with HSBC values.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Associate Director, CIB Banking COO

Role Purpose

The jobholder reports directly to the Director - Business Development, International Markets, Asia and support in driving sustainable business growth across the business. This role is tasked with managing, supporting and driving Origination and Business Development activities, Corridors engagement, and Collaborative initiatives

The scope of the role covers all segments of Banking in International Markets (Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines, Thailand, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Mauritius) as well as Global Network Banking in Scale Markets (Australia, New Zealand, Korea, Japan, Taiwan and Malaysia)

In this role you will:

• Strong understanding of HSBC structures, processes, and objectives across the Group. Strong knowledge of structure and dynamics of CIB and Infrastructure partners
• Manage and maintain the governance requirements including briefing documents, ensuring all actions are completed on a timely basis
• Responsible for management meetings and other similar type activities included but not limited to manage client engagement as well as other external and internal engagements, including town halls, colleague engagement events, training and development for leadership team, management team meetings
• Manage KPIs / KRIs and ensure consistent and timely delivery to the Business, for the purpose of assessing and driving improvement across key customer journeys. Work closely with key stakeholder across sites to support the ongoing management and assessment of scorecard metrics, performance monitoring and agreed KPIs
• Provide active support on large scale (AME and/or Global) client events and entertainment, working closely with Country Heads / CEOs on invitees, Marketing & Events on logistics (for example GIS, 7s, etc)
• Work with key stakeholders to managed Business Continuity Planning and Major Incident Management impacting CIB Banking AME
• Supporting Business Director and working in collaboration with HR to develop and execute the CIB Banking AME Employee Value Proposition, Cost management initiatives (levers to influence managed costs), capacity management (demand forecasting, impact assessments etc,) and manage all recruitment requests from markets and other Ad hoc CIB Banking related queries / projects / issues resolution
• Promotor of challenging the status quo, seeking to improve ways of working and having a forward-thinking mind-set, in line with the Group’s values and strategy. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration

To be successful you will need:

• Proven ability to work collaboratively with peers and senior stakeholders with sound understanding of HSBC Group structures, values, behaviours, processes, and objectives
• Proactive and Eager to Learn: A self-starter with a growth mindset, eager to take ownership of tasks and learn from senior colleagues
• Strong prioritisation and control skills, with ability to review and acknowledge when and how to reprioritise, mitigate, or escalation. Practical experience in managing few complex projects simultaneously
• Proven ability to work in a fast paced, ambiguous environment, whilst setting and managing realistic expectations and staying true to the values and strategy of the Group.
• Strong financial/accounting acumen and experience working across cultures; Exceptional PowerPoint & excel skills
• Strong stakeholder management, and negotiation ability. Strong interpersonal, communication, and business acumen to directly engage and negotiate consensus directly with business, product, and Global Function
