Job summary

The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (HSBC) in Singapore is seeking an Associate for Export Finance within Corporate and Institutional Banking. The role focuses on supporting origination, structuring, and execution of ECA-backed financing for multinational clients.

You will assist in preparing client materials, coordinating internal approvals, and contributing to transaction analysis and documentation, while engaging with senior bankers and cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years’ relevant experience in banking/corporate finance.
• Exposure to Export Finance/ECA-backed financing is an advantage.
• Experience producing client materials such as pitch books and marketing docs.
• Ability to review due diligence areas and loan documentation.
• Strong organisation and project management skills with clear communication.
• Fluent English; additional languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support marketing and business development by preparing pitch books, teasers and RFP responses, and coordinating/attending client meetings.
• Assist senior team with go-to-market planning, market scoping and origination opportunities.
• Coordinate internal approvals and governance processes (conflicts clearance, profitability, capital allocation, credit and environmental clearances).
• Support structuring of ECA-backed financing and analyze key terms and risks.
• Assist with execution of mandated transactions and summarise due diligence materials.
• Provide support on documentation for Export Finance transactions and review loan facilities as needed.
• Support portfolio administration and MI preparation for internal stakeholders; mentor juniors as needed.

In this role you will:

• Support marketing and business development by preparingpitch books, teasers and RFP responses, and coordinating/attendingclient meetings.

• Assist with executionof mandated transactions, including review and summarisation ofdue diligence materials (commercial, environmental, etc.).
• Provide support on documentationfor Export Finance transactions, including understanding and summarising relevantloan facility documentation where required.
• Support ongoing portfolio administrationand preparation ofmanagement information (MI) for internal stakeholders.
• Guide and support Analysts and Graduatesand contribute to internal knowledge-sharing (e.g.,teach-ins/training) onECA-backed financing; uphold HSBC’sconductstandards and fair outcomes for customers.

To be successful you will need:

• Minimum 4 years’r elevant experience inbanking/corporate finance; exposure toExport Finance/ECA-backed financing is an advantage.
• Sound knowledge of banking and loan/financing products, with strongcredit analysiscapability, understanding ofcredit metrics, andcash flow modelling skills.
• Experience producing client materials such as pitch books and other marketing documentation.
• Ability to review and summarise key due diligenceareas (commercial/environmental) and, where applicable, understand core aspects ofloan documentation.
• Strong organisation and project management skills; able to manage multiple workstreams, prioritise effectively, and communicate complex information clearly.
• Strong command of English (additional languages are an advantage). Familiarity with internal tools (e.g., CME, ORC, Navigator) is a bonus.
