Job summary

United Overseas Bank Limited (UOB) in Singapore seeks a seasoned production support specialist with 6+ years in Java/J2EE, middleware and payment/messaging systems to maintain health checks, incident handling and cross-country DR readiness.

You will work with end users, development and infrastructure teams to ensure resilient, high-availability services and timely incident resolutions, while driving process improvements and reporting.

Qualifications

• 6+ years hands-on experience in Java/J2EE and middleware
• Experience supporting online payment integrations and messaging systems
• Strong scripting, database querying and capacity/performance reporting skills
• Change/Problem/Capacity and performance management knowledge
• Solid understanding of resiliency and redundancy designs

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day issues including health checks and outages, coordinating with users, development and Infra teams to prioritize and resolve.
• Handle production support with initial response, data gathering, tracking and escalation as needed.
• Investigate production issues and provide workarounds; share L2 analysis with L3.
• Support automated health checks, housekeeping and inter-application checks.
• Respond to users promptly for reported production issues and clarifications.
• Monitor production activities to ensure timely reporting, tracking and communication of problems.
• Implement continuous process improvements in policy, procedures and monitoring.
• Identify, coordinate and implement initiatives to create efficiencies and optimize processing.
• Develop and maintain relationships with technical staff, end users and clients.
• Carefully evaluate alternatives before taking action to provide timely resolution.
• Perform Disaster Recovery (DR) exercises across all countries yearly.
• Assist to bring-up services after system maintenance/patching.
• Ensure end-of-day batch processes complete for multiple applications across countries.
• Generate one-time reports as requested by users/audit.
