This hands-on role focuses on leading by example, maintaining product knowledge, managing stock and floor replenishment, and ensuring adherence to store standards during busy periods.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent qualification preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of retail experience.
• Experience in fashion, premium retail, lingerie, shapewear, beauty or lifestyle retail is an advantage.
• Strong customer service and selling skills.
• Confident in coaching and supporting team members.

Responsibilities

Job description

Primary Responsibility

The Assistant Store Leader supports the Store Leader in the day-to-day leadership of the SKIMS store, with a strong focus on sales floor execution, team coaching, customer experience and operational excellence.

Working closely with the Store Leader, the Assistant Store Leader helps translate store priorities into daily actions, ensures the team is effectively deployed and supported, and maintains a high standard of service and product knowledge on the sales floor.

The role is highly hands-on and customer-facing, with a focus on leading by example, developing Team Members and ensuring consistent execution of store standards.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Floor & Customer Experience

• Lead the sales floor and ensure the team consistently delivers an elevated and personalised customer experience.
• Set the tone for customer engagement and lead by example in selling and service behaviours.
• Support the team in understanding customer needs and providing appropriate product, fit and styling recommendations.
• Monitor customer flow, fitting room activity and floor coverage, adjusting team deployment where necessary.
• Step in to support customer situations and resolve day-to-day service issues.

Team Coaching & Development

• Coach Team Members and Supervisors on customer engagement, selling techniques and product knowledge.
• Provide real-time feedback and guidance to improve individual performance.
• Support the onboarding and training of new Team Members.
• Share observations on team performance and development opportunities with the Store Leader.
• Act as a role model for professionalism, teamwork and SKIMS service standards.
• Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.

Daily Store Execution

• Support the Store Leader in ensuring daily store priorities are executed effectively.
• Assist with daily briefings, task allocation and floor zoning.
• Ensure the team is prepared for daily trading, new product launches, promotions and peak periods.
• Monitor the execution of opening and closing procedures.
• Ensure the sales floor remains replenished, organised and customer-ready throughout the day.
• Support stockroom and replenishment activities when required.

Product & Brand

• Maintain strong knowledge of SKIMS products, collections, fabrics, sizing and fit.
• Ensure Team Members are confident in communicating product features and benefits to customers.
• Support the team in maintaining product knowledge and staying updated on new launches and product updates.
• Ensure product presentation and customer-facing standards are maintained in accordance with SKIMS guidelines.

Operations

• Support accurate execution of daily operational processes, including cash handling, stock movement, replenishment and inventory activities.
• Assist in identifying and resolving operational issues on the sales floor.
• Ensure company SOPs and store procedures are followed consistently.
• Communicate operational updates and issues to the Store Leader in a timely manner.
• Support other store activities as assigned by the Store Leader.

Store Leader Support

• Act as the Store Leader's key support in the daily running of the store.
• Take charge of the store when the Store Leader is not present.
• Provide the Store Leader with feedback on customer experience, team performance and daily operational matters.

Any other ad hoc responsibilities assigned as needed.

Requirements

• Diploma or equivalent qualification preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of retail experience, with previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Experience in fashion, premium retail, lingerie, shapewear, beauty or lifestyle retail is an advantage.
• Strong customer service and selling skills.
• Good understanding of retail operations and sales KPIs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Confident in coaching and supporting team members.
