Job summary

Singapore Swimming Club is seeking an Assistant Restaurant Manager to elevate guest experiences and lead the service team on the floor. You will support the Senior Restaurant Manager in daily operations, supervise staff, and ensure consistency in service standards for members and guests.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage shifts, uphold safety and costs, and collaborate with kitchen and support teams to deliver memorable dining moments.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Hospitality Management or GCE ‘O’ Level.
  • At least 2 years of experience in the F&B industry, preferably in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
  • Well-groomed with a consistently professional appearance.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to connect with, motivate and lead the team.
  • Positive and proactive attitude with a readiness to take initiative and motivate others.
  • Calm and composed under pressure, maintaining focus to guide the team through busy and challenging situations.
  • Basic knowledge of POS systems and cash handling is a plus.
  • Able to work on rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Senior Restaurant Manager in the day-to-day management of restaurant operations to ensure smooth service delivery and positive member experiences.
  • Assist in supervising service staff and coordinating daily service activities, manpower deployment, and floor operations.
  • Support revenue and cost control initiatives, including upselling efforts and monitoring of food, beverage, and labour costs.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and the Club’s policies and procedures.
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training, and coaching of service staff to maintain service standards and team effectiveness.
  • Support staff scheduling and roster planning to ensure adequate coverage during operating hours.
  • Monitor service quality, cleanliness, and presentation standards across the restaurant and take corrective action where necessary.
  • Assist in reviewing sales, inventory, and manpower reports and highlight operational issues for follow-up.
  • Handle guest feedback and complaints promptly and professionally, escalating issues where required.
  • Coordinate with kitchen, bar, and support teams to ensure smooth service execution and product consistency.
  • Participate in inventory checks, stock control, and operational audits as assigned.
  • Support other operational duties as assigned by the HOD or Management.
