Job summary

Our esteemed client in the construction industry is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor Manager to join their dynamic team. Based islandwide, you will lead a QS team, manage post-contract administration, cost control, and financial reporting.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in QS or construction management and at least 5 years of managerial experience in a main-con environment. Immediate start is preferred and strong knowledge of local regs is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in QS, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of managerial or senior experience in a main-con environment.
• Strong knowledge of standard contracts, contract law, and local regulatory standards.
• Proficiency in QS software and the Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise a team of QS in post-contract administration, cost control, claims processing, and final accounts.
• Develop and manage project budgets, monitor cash flow, and prepare monthly cost reports.
• Administer main contracts and subcontracts, handling variations, progress claims, EOTs, and loss and expense claims.
• Evaluate, negotiate, and award subcontractor and supplier packages in line with budgets.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, and subs to resolve commercial issues and ensure contract compliance.
• Certify payments, variation orders, and final accounts for subcontractors.
• Drive value engineering and cost-saving initiatives to improve profitability.
• Ensure compliance with contract standards and local regulations in all activities.
• Maintain thorough and accurate commercial documentation and records.

• Working Hours: 5.5 days, Office Hours
• Salary Package: Up to $10,000 + Bonus

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage and supervise a team of QS in all post-contract administration, including cost control, claims processing, and final account settlement.
• Develop and manage project budgets, control cash flow, and prepare monthly cost reports for financial tracking and forecasting.
• Administer the main contract and subcontracts, managing all variations, progress claims, extension of time requests, and loss and expense claims.
• Evaluate, negotiate, and award subcontractor and supplier packages in alignment with project budgets and procurement strategies.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to resolve commercial issues and ensure strict contract compliance.
• Certify subcontractor payments, variation orders, and final accounts.
• Drive value engineering and cost-saving initiatives to enhance project profitability.
• Ensure all commercial activities comply with relevant contract standards and local regulations.
• Maintain comprehensive and accurate commercial documentation and records.
• Participate in project meetings and audits, providing critical commercial oversight.

Job Requirements:

• At least a Bachelor’s Degree in QS, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience at a managerial or senior level, preferably within a main-con environment.
• In-depth knowledge of standard construction contracts, contract law, and local regulatory standards.
• Strong understanding of local construction costs, materials, and procurement practices.
