Job summary

Gammon Construction Limited is seeking a Senior Planning Engineer to lead the development of baseline programs, dashboards, and progress monitoring for large-scale civil and building projects. You will coordinate with the project team to set milestones, prepare narratives, and ensure schedules align with master plans.

The role requires 10+ years of planning experience, proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project, and knowledge of 4D BIM.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering recognized by PE BCA or equivalent.
• Strong planning and scheduling fundamentals with large-scale project exposure.
• Experience in LTA programme preparation, requirements and submissions.
• 10+ years of hands-on planning for civil and building projects.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
• 4D BIM knowledge is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive tender and baseline programs, manpower charts, resources charts, and equipment charts.
• Collaborate with the Project Team to formulate start-up plans, milestone targets, and execution plans.
• Generate S-Curves, KPIs, and dashboards to monitor project progress.
• Prepare scope appreciation presentations with key milestones for project initiation.
• Track design work schedules to stay aligned with the master programme and provide updates.
• Plan and update target programs and micro programs monthly.
• Monitor construction progress and produce monthly/weekly progress reports.
• Oversee planning of architectural, structural & MEP works, site inspections, and ensure compliance with standards.
• Keep updated on industry practices and improve planning/scheduling systems.

Job description

• Develop comprehensive tender and baseline programs, manpower charts, resources charts, and equipment charts
• Collaborate with the Project Team to formulate project start-up, key milestone target, & execution plans, which includes programming plans, program narratives, and program write-ups
• Generate S-Curves, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and dashboards to effectively monitor project progress
• Prepare scope appreciation presentation with key milestone target for project initialization
• Track and ensure all design works schedules are in line with project master programme and provide constant updates on progress
• Plan and consistently update target programs and micro programs on a monthly basis
• Monitor construction program progress and produce monthly and weekly progress reports
• Keep updated on the construction industry practices and standards and recommend ways to improve the planning and scheduling systems
• Oversee the planning of architectural, structural & MEP works, site inspections, monitoring of work progress, ensure all works of the project and subcontractors are in compliance to the defined standards and drawings

Requirements:

• Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering recognized by Professional Engineers Board (PEB) Singapore or Building and Construction Authority (BCA)
• Good understanding of construction industry practices and standards to perform planning and scheduling
• Experience in LTA programme preparation, programme requirements and submissions
• At least 10 years’ experience in large scale projects with hands on experience doing planning and scheduling for civil and building projects
• Candidate with more experience will be considered for a senior role
• Proficient in planning software such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project
• Candidate with 4D BIM knowledge will have an added advantage
• Highly motivated, self-driven with initiatives to work independently to produce programmes, narrative and histograms
• Meticulous, eye for details and a good team player
• Ability to multi-task in a fast paced and dynamic environment
