Job summary

Nam Hoe Metal Industries in Singapore is seeking a Manufacturing Operations leader to oversee daily production, quality, safety and delivery targets, and to implement strategies that boost productivity and efficiency.

You will monitor KPIs, manage manpower, equipment, materials, and utilities, coach a team of about 30, and liaise with customers, suppliers and auditors to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Diploma in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience in the same or equivalent job scope.
• Proven leadership and people management skills, with experience managing more than 30 employees across various departments.
• Good knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, WSH and environmental compliance.
• Good knowledge of any ERP system.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely, accurate and complete reports on business operations, including weekly reports to Director and Assistant General Manager.

Manufacturing Operations

• Assist in overseeing daily manufacturing operations to achieve production, quality, safety and delivery targets.
• Recommend, develop and implement operational strategies to improve productivity, efficiency and overall manufacturing performance.
• Monitor manufacturing KPIs, identify operational issues, and implement timely corrective actions.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with the latest ISO 9001, ISO 14001, WSH requirements, and environmental, statutory and company regulations.
• Drive quality improvement initiatives, incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Promote a strong safety culture through 5S, good manufacturing practices and continuous improvement.

Inventory & Cost Management

• Assist in overseeing production planning, inventory control, and logistic schedules to meet customer requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, optimize resources, and reduce manufacturing costs (reworks and customer rejection).

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead and manage a growing team of about 30 employees, including supervisors, production team members, technicians and store employees.
• Ensure proper planning of manpower deployment, work allocation, and work schedules to ensure smooth manufacturing operations.
• Assist to coach, develop, and motivate teams to achieve operational and performance targets.
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety and continuous improvement.
• Assist to liaise with customers, suppliers, auditors, certification bodies, and government agencies when required.

Reporting

• Assist to provide timely, accurate and complete reports on the business operations of the company, including submission of weekly reports to Director and Assistant General Manager.

Job Requirement

• Diploma in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, or a related discipline.
• Preferably a valid Class 3 driver's license.
• Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience in the same or equivalent job scope.
• Proven leadership and people management skills, with experience managing more than 30 employees across various departments.
• Possess strong metal fabrication knowledge and production knowledge.
• Possess strong experience in production planning, manpower management and operational KPI management.
• Possess strong problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven ability to lead a fast-paced manufacturing environment and drive operational improvements.
• Good understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, WSH and environmental compliance.
• Good knowledge of any ERP system.
