Job summary

Murata Electronics Singapore (Pte) Ltd is seeking a senior engineer to drive improvement and corrective maintenance for Li-Ion battery manufacturing equipment. The role requires coordinating with Japan-based teams and leading cost-down activities to improve reliability.

The candidate will organize technical training, serve as the primary contact for overseas affiliates, and bring strong engineering expertise and project-management skills to the Front Process Maintenance department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in engineering (manufacturing, mechanical, electrical/electronic, industrial, mechatronics) required.
• At least 7 years of experience in electronics manufacturing.
• Business-level proficiency in Japanese and English required.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Department: Front Process Maintenance

Reports to: Department Manager

Functional relationships:

• Li-Ion battery Equipment and Process Engineering in Japan factories

POSITION PROFILE:

This position is to drive for improvement and Corrective Maintenance activities of manufacturing equipment with in-depth knowledge and experience in Li-Ion batteries manufacturing processes.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Lead Corrective Maintenance Projects

• Lead cost down activities

• Serve as the key point of contact to facilitate effective communication, coordination, and knowledge transfer among overseas affiliates.

• Provide technical expertise in liquid cell process / materials/ equipment

• To improve reliability of Li-Ion manufacturing equipment through rationalization activities

• To be the window person between Murata Singapore factory and Japan factories for the transfer of knowledge, technologies and equipment

• To organize and provide technical training to local engineers.

Ability/Competency required:

• Bachelor’s degree or master's degree in manufacturing engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

• At least 7 years of working experience in electronics manufacturing industry.

• Strong critical thinking and analytical skill

• To have strong growth mind-set for change and improvement.

• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, project management skills, and troubleshooting skills.

• Business-level proficiency in Japanese and English is required to support regular work-related communication and coordination with Japan-based factories and R&D departments, as well as local staff at the Murata Singapore factory.
