Job summary

Thriving Weeds Pte Ltd is seeking an Assistant Manager in Sustainability to support the founder on consultancy projects, waste audits, and data-driven initiatives across Singapore. You will collaborate with a diverse network of suppliers, partners, and clients, develop proposals, generate insights, and help drive measurable environmental impact while growing your career in a dynamic start-up.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or Business Management.
  • 0-2 years of experience in sustainability management or facilities management.
  • Strong communication skills and stakeholder coordination.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and Manage Projects: Implement sustainability programs and initiatives for clients, including consultancy projects, education programs, and waste audits.
  • Research & Analysis: Conduct market landscape research, analyze government regulations and sustainability data, and generate insights for client proposals.
  • Presentation & Insights: Create compelling presentation slides, insights, and dashboards for clients.
  • Client & Stakeholder Management: Coordinate with clients, offering professional advice and recommendations to ensure regulatory compliance and reduce carbon footprints.
  • R&D Participation: Engage in research and development of new waste technologies, manage projects, and pilot launches with clients.
  • Event Coordination: Organize and coordinate client activities such as workshops, seminars, and trade shows.
  • Global Coordination: Work with local and overseas suppliers to ensure product quality and specifications.
  • Administrative Support: Handle administrative tasks including meeting coordination, PO and invoicing, and inventory management.

Who We Are

Thriving Weeds Pte Ltd is an innovative local start-up dedicated to driving sustainable change across Singapore. We specialize in sustainability consultancy, waste auditing, data analysis, and sustainability education. By leveraging data, technology, and user education, we partner with our clients—including local farms, shopping malls, office buildings, and more to embed long-term sustainability practices.

Your Role

As an Assistant Manager in Sustainability, you will work closely with our founder, Lip Teng, who brings extensive experience in sustainability, waste management, environmental health & safety, and technology. You will support him in sustainability consultancy projects. This role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with a diverse network of external suppliers, partners, and clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and Manage Projects : Implement sustainability programs and initiatives for clients, including consultancy projects, education programs, and waste audits.
  • Research & Analysis : Conduct market landscape research, analyze government regulations and sustainability data (GHG accounting, waste data, recycling rates), and generate insights for client proposals.
  • Presentation & Insights : Create compelling presentation slides, insights, and dashboards, or collaborate with external partners to develop these for our clients.
  • Client & Stakeholder Management : Coordinate with clients, offering professional advice and recommendations to ensure regulatory compliance and reduce carbon footprints.
  • R&D Participation: Engage in research and development of new waste technologies, manage projects, and pilot launches with clients and research institutes.
  • Event Coordination: Organize and coordinate client activities such as workshops, seminars, and trade shows, to drive business development.
  • Global Coordination : Work with local and overseas suppliers, including potential business travel, to ensure product quality and specifications.
  • Administrative Support : Handle administrative tasks related to the above responsibilities, including meeting coordination, PO and invoicing, and inventory management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or Business Management.
  • 0-2 years of experience in sustainability management or facilities management, with a good understanding of international sustainability standards, trends, and regulations.
  • Strong communication skills; confident in working with and coordinating across various stakeholders, including senior executives.
  • Excellent multitasking and coordination skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience in developing data-driven insights and presentations.
  • Passionate about sustainability with a deep commitment to driving positive environmental impact.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, or equivalent tools.
