Public Service Division in Singapore is seeking an operationally strong leader to join the Mandai Operations Department, overseeing Mandai Crematorium operations. You will support day-to-day operations, ensure safety, health, and high standard of service while handling cremation processes sensitively.
The role requires coordinating maintenance, supervising staff and contractors, managing contracts, and responding to public feedback.
We are looking for an operationally-strong and service-oriented leader to join the Mandai Operations Department (MAOD), which oversees the operations and maintenance of NEA’s portfolio of memorial facilities. You will support the smooth and efficient day-to-day operations of Mandai Crematorium. The role contributes to maintaining high standards of public health, operational reliability and customer service, while ensuring that cremation services are conducted sensitively, safely and in accordance with established procedures.
You will be responsible for the following:
Lead and manage a team of officers and outsourced contractors to ensure smooth service ceremonies, cremation processes and collection of cremated remains.
Plan and coordinate maintenance, overhaul and repair works for cremators and auxiliary equipment to ensure equipment remains operational and service capacity is maintained.
Supervise and deploy operations officers effectively, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures and providing on-the-job guidance where needed.
Manage contract administration, including operational and maintenance requirements, work orders, verification of completed works and payment follow-up.
Handle public feedback, appeals and enquiries promptly and sensitively, including investigating issues, engaging stakeholders and preparing reports or recommendations where required.
Support operations across Mandai Crematorium and Columbarium, Yishun Columbarium and Kranji State Cemetery, including rostered weekend and public holiday duties.
