Job summary

PERSOL in Singapore is seeking a capable accounting professional to manage month-end close, prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts.

You will review bank reconciliations, fixed assets (CIP) and depreciation, support GST returns and tax filings, and provide accurate reporting to internal stakeholders. A degree in accounting and 3–8 years of experience are required, with CPA/CA preferred.

Qualifications

• 3–8 years of relevant accounting experience in GL, closing and reporting.
• Solid knowledge of Singapore financial reporting standards and GST tax requirements.
• Experience with fixed assets and CIP accounting is advantageous.
• Hands-on experience with ERP/accounting systems and attention to internal controls.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end / quarter-end / year-end closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial results.
• Prepare monthly journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and other general ledger transactions.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts; investigate and resolve reconciling items.
• Review bank reconciliations and key balance sheet schedules (e.g., AP/AR schedules and other supporting ledgers) for accuracy.
• Maintain the fixed asset register, including accounting for capital expenditure and depreciation.
• Track and account for Construction-in-Progress (CIP) projects, including monitoring asset capitalization.
• Support inventory accounting, inventory reconciliations, and related analysis.
• Review GST returns and support corporate tax computation and other tax-related filings and payments.
• Compile, verify, and submit required financial/operational information to relevant local agencies where applicable.
• Prepare schedules and reports required by internal stakeholders and support ad-hoc projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Degree in Accountancy / Finance (or related discipline).
• Professional accountancy qualification (e.g., CPA/CA or equivalent) is preferred.
• 3-8 years of relevant accounting experience in a similar scope (GL, closing, reporting).
• Solid knowledge of Singapore financial reporting standards and statutory/tax requirements (including GST).
• Experience with fixed assets and capital project accounting (including CIP) is advantageous.
• Understanding of internal control principles and ability to apply them in day-to-day work.
• Hands-on experience with ERP/accounting systems; exposure to Sage 300 is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail, good analytical skills, and ability to work independently to meet closing timelines.
