Job summary

MINDEF is seeking a senior IT infrastructure architect to support the OSIT landscape. You will translate business requirements into technical enablers, develop masterplans, review portfolios for efficiency, and partner with leaders and engineers to shape the OSIT architecture.

The role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• At least 6 years of experience in a technical or engineering setting with IT infrastructure and services.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with sound organisational acumen.
• Ability to engage effectively with leadership, engineers and ground users.
• Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Education in STEM or related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into technical enablers and masterplans for OSIT infrastructure applications.
• Develop masterplans, Multi-Year Business Plans and implementation strategies.
• Review existing portfolios to identify opportunities for resource optimisation.
• Support OSIT architecture and capability development through collaboration with stakeholders.
• Maintain knowledge across technology stacks in production and stay updated on IT industry trends.
• Understand strategic intent to support architecting and master planning of future OSIT landscape.

What the role is:

You support the Branch Head in architecting and shaping the future Operations Support Information Technology (OSIT) infrastructure applications landscape to meet strategic intent and operational requirements.

What you will be working on:

• Translate business requirements into technical enablers
• Develop masterplans, Multi-Year Business Plans, and implementation strategies
• Review existing portfolios to identify opportunities for resource optimisation
• Support the Branch Head in driving a holistic approach to the development of OSIT infrastructure applications strategies and capability development
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to spearhead technology pioneeringChallenge(s)
• Maintaining strong knowledge across various technology stacks in production environments while keeping abreast of developments and trends in the IT industry
• Understanding the strategic intent and objectives to support the architecting and master planning of the future OSIT infrastructure applications landscape

What we are looking for:

• Education in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) or a related field is preferred
• Related professional qualifications or certifications are advantageous
• At least 6 years of experience in a technical or engineering setting, with a strong background in IT infrastructure and services
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with sound organisational acumen
• Ability to engage effectively with leadership, engineers and ground users
• Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment
