Job summary

GIG Coffee in Singapore is looking for a kitchen handler to manage daily operations, prepare and cook dishes, and uphold NEA hygiene standards. The role emphasizes quality, presentation, and teamwork in a fast-paced cafe setting.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of relevant experience, a WSQ food safety certificate, and availability on weekends/public holidays. You will maintain cleanliness and safety across all kitchen areas and support management in daily tasks.

Qualifications

• 2 years' relevant experience in hospitality/kitchen required.
• WSQ Food Safety & Hygiene certificate is mandatory.
• Willing to work weekends and public holidays.
• Able to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth and efficient daily kitchen operations and food preparation.
• Prepare and cook dishes to cafe standards in quality, recipes, and presentation.
• Maintain storage, handling and hygiene in accordance with NEA regulations.
• Keep kitchen and equipment clean and in good working condition.
• Maintain high sanitation, cleanliness and safety across all kitchen areas.
• Stock ingredients and supplies to support daily operations as per guidelines.
• Collaborate with teammates and respond to guest feedback for continual improvement.
• Support safe work practices and a safe working environment.
• Perform other duties as required by Management.

Job Description:

• Ensure smooth & efficient daily kitchen operations, food preparations and implementation of new menu.
• Prepare / cook dishes according to cafe's standards of quality control, recipes, cooking techniques and food presentation to the guests.
• Ensure food storage, handling and hygiene are in accordance with NEA regulations and standards.
• Keeping the kitchen and equipment clean and in good working conditions.
• Ensure high standards of sanitation, cleanliness and safety are maintained throughout all kitchen areas at all times.
• Maintain proper and sufficient stock of ingredients, utensils, supplies and equipment within company's guidelines for smooth running of daily operations.
• Maintain collaborative working relationships with colleagues and continual improvement through guests' feedback.
• Support safe work habits and environment at all times.
• Perform any other duties as and when required by the Management.

Job Requirements:

• Preferably with 2 years' relevant experience
• Minimum secondary school education with a valid WSQ food safety & hygiene certificate
• Willing to work on weekends and public holidays
• Able to work independently and support other team members proactively in a fast-paced environment
