Job summary

Sport Singapore is seeking an Assistant Centre Manager to lead daily centre operations and ensure high visitor satisfaction. You will collaborate with Centre Managers and Senior staff to plan activities, maintain staffing levels, and drive safe, engaging sports experiences.

The ideal candidate has a track record in facility or club management, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and strong leadership with excellent communication and training skills.

Qualifications

• 3 years of management experience in facility management or club management settings.
• Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Hospitality Management, or a similar field.

What you will be working on:

The role of Assistant Centre Manager involves managing sports centre operations, ensuring efficient facility functioning, maintaining staff readiness, and delivering a high level of customer satisfaction.

• Work closely with CM/SCM (Centre Manager/Senior Centre Manager) to understand the plans and activities by internal and external stakeholders within the sport centre
• Work with CM/SCM to oversee day to day operations
• Ensure all staff are properly trained with required skills and knowledge for their job
• Assess and recommend suitable courses to staff for staff development and training
• Work with stakeholders to ensure all staff undergo courses or workshops annually
• Work with SGO (Senior Guest Officer) and SLG (Senior Lifeguard) to ensure adequate manpower resourcing for operations
• Assist CM/SCM in conceptualising programme strategy in relation to the Sport Centre
• Work with SGO to execute programme creation as guided by CM/SCM
• Provide proper guidance to staff in reporting venue defects
• Work with FM (Facilities Management) team to ensure defects are properly addressed and resolved
• Plan with CM/SCM on any major works for the centre for appropriate manpower planning and deployment
• Ensure that the centre operations comply with safety regulations and standards as guided by SportSG HQ (such as Fire Safety, Workplace Safety and Ride Safety)
• Work with appointed Fire safety manager to implement and enforce safety protocols and emergency procedures
• Undergo Safe Sport certification to be a certified Safe Sport Manager
• Maintain detailed records of daily reconciliation activities and adjustments made
• Assist auditors in their review and ensure compliance with audit requirements

What we are looking for:

In addition, an ideal candidate should possess the following:

• Preferably 3 years of management experience in facility management or club management settings
• A Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Hospitality Management, or a similar field
• Strong leadership skills to guide and motivate staff whilst being customer-oriented
• Effective communication skills are important for handling staff and guests
• Good decision-making skills and keen attention to detail to address any challenges promptly
• An adaptable and resilient individual who can work in diverse and dynamic environments, multi-task, and carry out their responsibilities with minimum supervision
• Must be willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays

The level of offer will commensurate with applicants’ experience and track records. Successful candidates will be offered a 2/3-year contract in the first instance.Only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
