NAVA 1872 Pte Ltd (Known as The 1872 Clipper Tea Co.) is seeking an meticulous assistant accountant to lead the finance department, guide a small team, and drive growth across cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and daily accounting.

The role requires 5–7 years in finance, experience with ERP (Dynamics 365), and strong Excel skills, preferably with Retail or multi-outlet operations in an F&B setting.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification.
• 5–7 years in finance and accounting, including 1–2 years leading or supervising a team.
• Experience in Retail, F&B, or multi-outlet operations preferred.
• Strong hands-on cash flow planning, budgeting, and financial modelling.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (Dynamics 365) and strong Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning.
• Lead the finance team and supervise daily accounting activities.
• Manage monthly close and produce timely financial reports.
• Coordinate landlord reporting, stock/inventory controls, and supplier payments.
• Ensure statutory compliance (SFRS, GST, corporate tax) and support audits.

Job Description

We are looking for a meticulous, forward-thinking assistant accountant to join our team. In this role, you will lead our finance department, guide our small team, and help fuel our brand’s growth—ensuring everything runs smoothly from cash flow forecasting and budgeting to daily accounting and statutory compliance.

1. Financial Planning & Strategic Insights

• Cash Flow Management: Oversee daily cash positions, track money in and out, and maintain rolling cash flow forecasts to keep our operations liquid and healthy.
• Budgeting & Analysis: Build annual budgets, track monthly spending against targets, and provide clear insights on performance.
• Financial Modelling: Create simple, clear financial models to evaluate margins, pricing strategies, new boutique or café openings, and project returns.

2. Day-to-Day Accounting & Team Support

• Team Leadership: Mentor and guide our finance team, ensuring smooth daily execution and steady personal growth.
• Accounts & Reconciliations: Oversee daily AP, AR, General Ledger, and bank reconciliations to keep our books in order.
• Monthly Closing: Check and approve accurate monthly and year-end financial reports on time.
• Process Improvements: Find ways to streamline accounting workflows and make daily operations easier and faster.

3. Retail & Operations Finance

• Landlord Reporting: Submit monthly sales statements to boutique and outlet landlords on time, in line with lease terms.
• Stock & Inventory Control: Coordinate monthly stock counts across our stores, reconcile inventory, look into missing stock, and reduce stock loss.
• Payments & Claims: Oversee supplier payments, staff claims, and monthly commission payouts in line with company policies.

4. Tax, Audit & Stakeholder Contact

• Statutory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS), GST, and corporate tax submissions.
• Audit & Stakeholders: Lead the annual audit process and act as the primary contact for auditors, tax authorities, banks, landlords, and key suppliers.
• Operational Partnering: Work closely with store and operational leads to monitor cost controls, staffing, and margins.

Minimum Requirements

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum 5 to 7 years in finance and accounting, including at least 1-2 years leading or supervising a team.
• Prior experience in Retail, F&B, or multi-outlet operations is strongly preferred.
• Strong hands‑on experience in cash flow planning, budgeting, and financial modelling.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g. Dynamics 365) and strong Excel skills (Pivot tables, formulas).
