Job summary

Lim Wen Heng Construction is seeking a qualified engineer/architectural professional to lead scheduling and coordination of architectural works on a major project in Singapore. You will manage subcontractor progress and quality, delegate tasks, liaise with suppliers, and ensure timely delivery of materials in line with consultants’ approvals.

The role requires a Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture and at least 5 years of main contractor experience on large-scale projects.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with a main contractor on public or private sector projects.
• Alternate Saturday work week.

Responsibilities

• Develop a schedule program for the commencement and completion of all architectural works to align with the master schedule.
• Coordinate monitor and control architectural subcontractor’s progress and quality of work.
• Coordinate subcontractors’ work to avoid conflicts among trades.
• Delegate work to general workers/supervisors and ensure compliance with standards.
• Liaise with suppliers and plan delivery schedules; ensure timely delivery of goods and materials.
• Submit materials, shop drawings and method statements for consultant approval before work starts.
• Arrange architectural trade demonstrations and testing for consultant approval.
• Liaise with consultants to resolve technical and detailing issues.
• Attend project coordination meetings; report progress to Project Manager.
• Assist quality team for Conquas and Quality Mark; compile handing over documents including as-built drawings.
• Implement control measures on materials, plants and equipment usage; interpret drawings and resolve discrepancies.

• To coordinate subcontractors’ work so that there are no conflicts amongst different subcontractors.
• To delegate work to the general workers/supervisors and ensure it is in compliance with company/authority standards.
• Liaise with suppliers on items needed for the project and plan the delivery schedule.
• Ensure timely delivery of goods and material to site.
• Submission to consultants for materials, shop drawings and method statement approval before commencement of work.
• Arrange for architectural trade demonstration for consultant’s approval.
• Arrange for testing of architectural materials.
• Liaise with consultants to resolve technical and detailing issues for architectural work.
• Attend project coordination meetings.
• Report to Project Manager the progress of architectural work.
• Assist quality team for Conquas and Quality Mark.
• Assist Project Manager in compilation of handling over documents including as-built drawings.
• Execute control measures on material/plant and equipment/utilities usage.
• Understand specifications, drawings, scope and sequence of work.
• Ability to propose alternative material/work method for architectural work.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings for any discrepancies.

Job Requirements

• Alternate Saturday work week
• Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering/Architecture.
• 5 years of experience in Main Contractor with at least one completed public/private sector project.
