Job summary

Gunvor Group Ltd in Singapore is seeking a Power Origination Analyst to support the Head of APAC Power Trading and Origination, originating, analysing and structuring power transactions across the region.

Based in Singapore, you will own defined opportunities, lead commercial discussions, develop market relationships with generators, renewables developers, utilities and investors, and contribute to pricing models and portfolio analytics to optimise risk and monetisation.

Qualifications

• University degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering or Mathematics preferred.
• Between 5 to 7 years of experience in gas, renewables or power sector.
• Strong understanding of wholesale power markets and market fundamentals.
• Experience negotiating term sheets and supporting or leading transaction execution.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with models for power transactions or portfolio analysis.
• Commercially minded with ability to develop external relationships and take ownership of workstreams.
• Fluent in English with strong verbal and written skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation and influencing abilities.
• Able to handle high pressure in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Team player with collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the APAC Power origination strategy and maintain an active pipeline of counterparties, projects and commercial opportunities.
• Originate and evaluate opportunities across renewable energy, BESS, structured power supply, firming, environmental products, retail sleeving and demand response.
• Take ownership of selected transactions and lead defined commercial discussions, including preparation, negotiation and term sheets.
• Develop and maintain relationships with generators, renewable developers, utilities, retailers, data centres, investors and financial counterparties.
• Prepare market analysis, commercial proposals, term sheets, presentations, approval papers and transaction materials.
• Support internal analytics and build, maintain and enhance models for pricing, portfolio management and demand response analysis.
• Provide the Portfolio Manager and traders with analytical support for portfolio management, hedging, risk assessment, optimisation and monetisation.
• Support transaction execution from initial engagement through long-form documentation, internal approval and implementation.
• Liaise with Risk, Legal, Credit, Finance, Tax, Compliance and Operations, tracking actions and approvals.
• Monitor APAC power market fundamentals and regulatory developments, translating them into commercial insights.
• Contribute to new desk capabilities including physical power, retail and environmental markets.
• Ensure all activities comply with Gunvor risk, conduct, compliance and governance requirements.
• Perform other ad-hoc duties assigned by manager.
